After publishing seven audiobooks over the past two years, I’ve been systematically testing different marketing strategies. Here’s what’s actually moving the needle for me in 2025:
**What’s Working:**
1. **TikTok Audiogram Snippets** – 30-second emotional scene snippets with captions are outperforming all other social content by 5x
2. **Podcast Guest Appearances** – Being interviewed on genre-specific fiction podcasts drives more sales than general writing/publishing podcasts
3. **Cross-Promotions** – Partnering with other authors in my genre for newsletter swaps specifically highlighting audiobooks
4. **Audiobook-Specific Review Sites** – AudiobookReview.com and AudioFile Magazine reviews drive significant sales
5. **Targeted Audiobook Promotions** – ChirpBooks deals and AudiobookBoom campaigns have excellent ROI
**What’s NOT Working (or declining in effectiveness):**
1. Promo codes giveaways on Reddit and similar platforms (too much abuse)
